Hisyam commenced his pupillage under the tutelage of Datin Seet Hooi Ping in the corporate department of Messrs. Albar & Partners . Reading in the chambers of Messrs. Albar & Partners has exposed him to the broad spectrum of corporate exercises involving multi-national corporations. He was involved in various corporate exercises ranging from corporate restructuring, initial public offering, merger & acquisition, issuance of sukuk, Real Estate Investment Trusts and share acquisitions, mainly focusing on corporate due diligence, regulatory compliance and advisory.
Hisyam then briefly joined Mohamed Ridza & Co as a paralegal during which he was involved in several commercial transactions relating to the establishment of franchises, joint ventures, cross-border acquisitions by a foreign corporation and sale & purchase of industrial leases. He was also exposed to other corporate and share concepts including Islamic preference shares.
Prior to establishing HAP, Hisyam served as Legal Officer in Perbadanan Kemajuan Pertanian Selangor, a statutory body of the State Government of Selangor. It was there where he obtained extensive knowledge and experience in the machinery of the government. Diverse engagements with multiple federal and state government bodies and agencies had served him well in meetings at all levels, giving excellent advices to all the stakeholders.
Hisyam was also hands-on in various real estate transactions including sale and purchase, concessions, leases and tenancies of lands and commercial premises worth several millions. Hisyam is well experienced in commercial transactions having been involved in the advisory and preparation of a wide range of agreements which are essential to the daily operation of business to large scale transactions including management contracts, R&D and technology sharing agreements.
His stint as an in-house corporate counsel lends an insight towards providing practical and dynamic solutions to the needs of clients and businesses.
